Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of roads, bridges, and municipal facilities
- Verify compliance with federal, state, and local building codes
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and violation notices
- Coordinate with engineering contractors and city departments
- Manage project documentation and compliance records
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding infrastructure issues
- Participate in emergency response for public safety hazards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Strong knowledge of Michigan DOT and city building codes
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and inspection software
