Responsibilities
- Manage pension enrollment, disbursements, and record-keeping for 50,000+ state employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Oregon state pension laws
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments with precision
- Develop and deliver employee retirement education workshops
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal departments on pension policy updates
- Generate quarterly reports for state auditors and regulatory bodies
- Implement annual pension plan adjustments based on actuarial studies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations, and Oregon ORS 243.650
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Clear communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
- Valid Oregon driver's license (required for occasional off-site meetings)
