Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections of municipal construction projects for quality and safety compliance
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for alignment with city codes and specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation for regulatory bodies
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve project issues
- Enforce adherence to OSHA, FDOT, and Miami-Dade County building standards
- Manage project timelines and budgets through regular progress assessments
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities and public infrastructure
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Florida Inspector Certification (FICAC or ICC preferred)
- Proficiency with CAD software and construction documentation systems
- Strong knowledge of Miami-Dade building codes and FDOT regulations
- Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License within 90 days
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and compliance documentation
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required
- Pass background check and drug screening per city policy
