As a key member of our public works division, you'll work on critical municipal projects including road maintenance, drainage systems, park facilities, and utility infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers under proper supervision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and drainage system maintenance
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines for all construction activities
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and report equipment issues to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred (training available)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and flexible schedule
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
