Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors)
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and storm drain maintenance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Prepare work sites and clean up debris after project completion
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople on complex infrastructure projects
- Complete daily equipment maintenance checks and reporting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
