Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete repair
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater drainage and sewer system maintenance
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with heavy equipment operation or landscaping/construction
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in construction zones
