Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete work on city infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, power tools) safely and efficiently
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Document work progress and material usage in daily reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of construction/public works labor experience preferred
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification a plus
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
