Responsibilities
- Perform construction and maintenance tasks on roads, bridges, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and asphalt pavers
- Conduct site inspections and report infrastructure concerns
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
- Maintain equipment and safety protocols per OSHA standards
- Support emergency response during weather-related incidents
- Document project progress using mobile reporting tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 2+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic equipment operation skills
- Strong attention to safety procedures
- Comfortable with remote work documentation systems
