Responsibilities
- Execute safe and efficient excavation, grading, and paving operations for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and compactors under OSHA guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities including parks, drainage systems, and roadways
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain project timelines and quality standards
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during field operations
- Document daily progress using digital reporting tools and maintain equipment logs
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works emergencies
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in municipal construction or public works environments
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with clean record
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, and trenchers
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in extreme weather
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Strong teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate in high-pressure environments
