Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment safely including excavators, dump trucks, and jackhammers
- Assist in park maintenance including landscaping, tree trimming, and facility upkeep
- Respond to emergency storm damage and public safety infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects and rehabilitation initiatives
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment in optimal condition
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction methods
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and occasional overtime
- Strong work ethic and commitment to public service values
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided if needed)
