Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and jackhammers
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and loading construction materials
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and sewer maintenance projects
- Conduct site inspections and report safety hazards or infrastructure issues
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic preventative maintenance
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal work standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Previous construction or public works experience preferred
