Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and asphalt compactors
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Collaborate on infrastructure rehabilitation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document project progress and material usage
- Respond to emergency public works situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years construction or public works experience
- Valid Hawaii Class C Driver's License
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
