Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform essential labor tasks including road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and storm drain cleaning.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain heavy machinery such as dump trucks, rollers, and jackhammers.
- Traffic Control: Set up and monitor traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and flagging operations.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools to and from job sites.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites, including clearing debris and grading surfaces.
- Weather Resilience: Work effectively in various weather conditions to ensure project deadlines are met.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensing: Valid California Class C Driver’s License required with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform heavy manual labor.
- Health: Must pass a post-offer medical examination and drug screen.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly preferred but not always required for entry-level candidates.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
