Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, loaders, and trenchers
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and natural disasters
- Conduct safety inspections of municipal assets
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reporting
- Train junior staff on equipment protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid California Class B Driver's License
- Certification in OSHA construction safety preferred
- Experience with GIS mapping systems
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
