Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance/construction experience
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
