Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on municipal buildings, playgrounds, and athletic fields
- Operate heavy equipment including mowers, tractors, and snow removal vehicles
- Respond to emergency repairs during inclement weather or public safety events
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety compliance checks
- Assist with construction projects including paving, drainage improvements, and landscape installations
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Document work orders and maintenance activities using digital tracking systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in equipment operation or facility maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, irrigation systems, and small engine repair
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
