Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of water mains, sewer lines, fire hydrants, and valve boxes using hand and power tools.
- Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, and trenchers, in compliance with all safety protocols.
- Inspect underground infrastructure for leaks, blockages, and structural integrity issues.
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform pressure tests to isolate leaks.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met and safety standards are upheld.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of street signs, traffic signals, and pavement markings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; vocational training in plumbing, pipefitting, or diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in utility maintenance or a related field.
- Valid Oklahoma Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), kneeling, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
