Responsibilities
- Maintenance Operations: Perform general maintenance and repair on streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain a variety of heavy and light equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, and hand tools, following all safety protocols.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA safety regulations and municipal policies during all field operations.
- Emergency Response: Assist in storm response, snow removal, and other emergency maintenance duties as required.
- Public Interaction: Interact courteously with the public and other City employees while performing duties.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensure: Valid California Class C Driver's License is mandatory.
- Experience: One (1) year of general maintenance or construction experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety data sheets.
