Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, loaders, graders) safely and efficiently
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on vehicles and machinery
- Respond to emergency service requests during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and city protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in equipment operation or maintenance
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
