Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and snow plows.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months.
- Inspect public works equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all OSHA safety standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and citizen inquiries regarding public infrastructure.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Previous experience in general labor, construction, or municipal maintenance preferred.
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
