Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, and graders, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Perform routine and emergency road maintenance tasks, including pothole repair, crack sealing, and traffic sign installation.
- Assist in snow removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Inspect and maintain public facilities, parks, and landscaping to uphold the city’s aesthetic standards.
- Respond to service requests and citizen complaints regarding public infrastructure in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, inspectors, and other municipal staff to complete large-scale projects.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and local municipal policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, construction, or heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and small engine mechanics is a plus.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record check.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
