Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including dump trucks, excavators, and loaders.
- Clear snow and ice from streets and public areas during winter weather events.
- Inspect municipal facilities and grounds for safety hazards and aesthetic upkeep.
- Assist in large-scale public works projects, including paving and utility installation.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or municipal maintenance preferred.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency response situations.
