Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as graders, rollers, and paving machines.
- Assist in traffic control, flagging, and ensuring safety zones during roadwork.
- Inspect public infrastructure to identify potential hazards or needed repairs.
- Clear snow and ice from municipal roads during winter months.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public inquiries promptly.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with city safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Arizona Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong commitment to public service and safety.
