Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Park & Facility Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of public parks, playgrounds, and municipal buildings.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and street sweepers, following all safety protocols.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls regarding downed power lines, flooding, or significant infrastructure damage during inclement weather.
- Community Relations: Interact professionally with residents and other city departments to address concerns and coordinate projects.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensure: Valid Class C California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general maintenance.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as familiarity with traffic control devices.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
