Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of roads, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate heavy machinery and vehicles, including dump trucks, backhoes, and graders.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and service calls in a timely manner.
- Inspect public works sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors on large-scale projects.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials according to environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Oklahoma Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques, traffic control, and equipment operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
