The Role:
Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of semi-skilled manual labor tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of public streets, sidewalks, and municipal buildings.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, and carrying materials and equipment.
- Operate heavy municipal vehicles and equipment such as dump trucks, snowplows, and loaders.
- Assist in road repair, pothole filling, and pavement maintenance.
- Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, streets, and public parking areas during inclement weather.
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites and dispose of debris properly.
- Follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations strictly to ensure a safe work environment.
- Inspect public infrastructure for signs of wear and report necessary repairs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class A or B CDL preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of construction tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
