Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles, heavy machinery, and specialized equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on public infrastructure including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Conduct field inspections and document infrastructure conditions using digital tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement public works improvement projects
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during severe weather events
- Manage waste collection operations and recycling program compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in civil engineering technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with GIS mapping software and digital inspection tools
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
