Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles and equipment for public works projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of city infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events
- Support community outreach programs related to public works projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years infrastructure maintenance experience
- Valid Oregon Class C driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience operating heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, sweepers)
- Basic proficiency in GIS mapping software
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physical labor environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of Portland municipal codes and regulations
