Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation techniques for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing hardware prototypes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into commercial applications
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Published record in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ions)
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel programming
