Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning
- Develop error-corrected quantum circuits using superconducting qubits
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit coherence times
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI/ML specialists to solve complex problems
- Secure $1M+ in NSF/DARPA grants for quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published work in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in Python, C++, and low-level quantum hardware interfaces
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics and information theory
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Strong track record of securing federal research grants
