Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty sanitation trucks to collect and transport refuse, garbage, and recycling materials from residential and commercial zones.
- Follow assigned routes efficiently to ensure timely service to all neighborhoods.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on sanitation vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws while operating vehicles and performing manual labor.
- Inspect collection areas for potential hazards or infrastructure issues and report them to supervisors.
- Ensure proper sorting of recyclables to maximize community sustainability efforts.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy loads (up to 75 lbs) and operating machinery for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.
