Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of residential and commercial waste using municipal trucks and collection vehicles.
- Perform street sweeping operations to ensure compliance with city sanitation codes.
- Inspect and report maintenance issues related to sanitation equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and traffic laws while operating heavy machinery.
- Assist in disaster recovery efforts, including flood cleanup and debris removal as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents and city officials regarding sanitation schedules and issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Louisiana Driver’s License (Class D) with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects weighing up to 100+ pounds.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Must pass a post-offer medical examination and drug screening.
