Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty sanitation trucks and collection vehicles along assigned routes.
- Collect, load, and transport residential and commercial refuse, trash, and recyclables.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and city ordinances while operating vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the truck cab and work site.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and the public regarding collection schedules and issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not always mandatory for entry-level, depending on specific role, but let's stick to standard license for general hire).
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50-100 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Must be able to pass a physical fitness test and a background check.
- Strong commitment to safety and punctuality.
- Experience in sanitation, waste management, or general labor is a plus but not required.
