Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor annual operating and capital improvement budgets
- Analyze financial data to recommend budget adjustments and cost-saving measures
- Prepare comprehensive fiscal reports for city council and department heads
- Collaborate with department directors on budget formulation and execution
- Ensure compliance with NC state budget laws and GASB standards
- Lead multi-year financial forecasting initiatives
- Manage grant funding allocations and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of governmental budgeting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software
- CPA or MPA preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of NC municipal finance regulations
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or PeopleSoft)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
