Responsibilities
- Manage all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with state regulations
- Administer oaths of office and serve as the official custodian of city seals
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely, accurate responses
- Manage city council agendas, prepare supporting documentation, and facilitate public hearings
- Supervise clerical staff and implement records management systems
- Act as primary liaison between citizens, departments, and elected officials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with 2+ in supervisory role
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Illinois municipal codes and election laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Valid Illinois driver's license
