Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance of official municipal records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act requirements
- Manage city elections and voter registration processes with precision and integrity
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and authenticate official documents
- Coordinate with city council members and department heads on legislative documentation
- Develop and implement records management systems for digital and physical archives
- Lead public outreach initiatives to enhance civic engagement and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Expert knowledge of Texas open records laws and municipal governance
- Proficiency in records management software and document automation systems
- Valid Texas Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Proven project management experience for complex civic initiatives
- Certification in Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Records Management preferred
