Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of City Council meeting preparation, including agenda compilation, minute documentation, and ordinance processing
- Manage official records retention, public records requests, and document archiving per Arizona state statutes
- Administer municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Serve as custodian of the City Seal and attestation of official documents
- Coordinate public hearing notifications and legal publication compliance
- Implement records management systems ensuring digital and physical document security
- Provide procedural guidance to elected officials and department heads
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of municipal government or public sector administrative experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation from International Institute of Municipal Clerks
- Expert knowledge of Arizona open meeting laws (A.R.S. ยง 38-431) and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated ability to draft complex legal documents
- Proven experience managing public records requests and FOIA compliance
- Valid Arizona driver's license
