Responsibilities
- Oversee city records management systems ensuring compliance with Kentucky Open Records Act
- Prepare and maintain official council meeting agendas, minutes, and legislative documentation
- Administer oaths, notarizations, and public record certifications
- Manage municipal elections coordination and voter registration processes
- Develop and implement records retention policies for 15+ city departments
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens, council members, and executive leadership
- Oversee document digitization and archival systems
- Lead public records request fulfillment within statutory timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field required
- 5+ years municipal government or public sector experience
- Expert knowledge of Kentucky Revised Statutes Chapter 61A (Public Records)
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Proven experience managing public meetings and legislative processes
- Professional certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) preferred
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
