Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state regulations and federal policies to develop actionable recommendations for San Diego region
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design evidence-based solutions for homelessness, healthcare access, and environmental sustainability
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing time-sensitive government initiatives
- Prepare concise policy briefs and legislative testimony for state officials
- Monitor budget allocations and resource allocation effectiveness
- Evaluate program outcomes using quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback
- Represent the agency at public forums and intergovernmental meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative data analysis (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Demonstrated success in managing high-stakes projects with tight deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of California state legislative processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Valid California driver's license (for field work)
