Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with absolute accuracy
- Oversee public information requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Coordinate with City Council, mayoral office, and department heads on legislative processes
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration initiatives
- Lead records management digitization and archival preservation projects
- Serve as primary liaison for public inquiries regarding municipal procedures
- Develop and implement records retention policies in accordance with state regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Advanced certification in Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Records Management preferred
- Expert knowledge of Texas open records laws and municipal governance
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
