Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act regulations
- Coordinate city council agendas, prepare documentation, and support public hearings
- Administer oaths, issue permits/licenses, and serve as official custodian of city seals
- Lead digital records modernization projects and implement document management systems
- Train staff on records management protocols and compliance procedures
- Collaborate with department heads on records retention policies and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or public records management experience
- California Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in records management systems and document retention policies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital archiving platforms
- Exceptional written communication skills with precise attention to detail
- Knowledge of California Government Code and municipal governance practices
