Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, filings, and dockets according to Michigan judicial standards
- Process civil, criminal, and family court documents with strict attention to procedural requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and court visitors
- Coordinate with judges, attorneys, and law enforcement for case scheduling and hearings
- Utilize case management software for document tracking and deadline monitoring
- Prepare official court orders, summonses, and notices with precision
- Conduct preliminary case reviews for completeness and compliance
- Assist with jury coordination and courtroom logistics as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of courthouse or legal administrative experience
- Proficiency in Michigan court procedures and legal terminology
- Advanced knowledge of document management systems (e.g., Odyssey, FileTrak)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
- Notary Public certification required (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
