Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events using SIEM tools and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) protocols to enforce the principle of least privilege.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans to mitigate and recover from cyber security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with NIST frameworks, FISMA, and other relevant government security standards.
- Collaborate with IT staff to design secure network architectures and data encryption strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Certification such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance within a government or enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Proficiency with security tools (e.g., Splunk, FireEye, CrowdStrike).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to senior leadership.
