Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to security incidents across state networks using SIEM tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Develop and implement security protocols aligned with NIST and CIS standards
- Lead incident response coordination during cyber emergencies
- Train state employees on security best practices and threat awareness
- Collaborate with federal agencies on threat intelligence sharing
- Manage security access controls and identity management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with government/municipal experience preferred
- CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in threat detection, incident response, and risk assessment
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security automation
- Active government security clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents
