Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate environmental health complaints and implement corrective actions
- Develop and deliver public education programs on health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with state agencies on emerging environmental health threats
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare technical reports
- Train junior staff on inspection protocols and regulatory compliance
- Represent the department in community outreach events and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification preferred
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for inspections
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and data analysis software
