Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based environmental policies aligned with California Climate Action Plan and SB 253 mandates
- Analyze air quality data and greenhouse gas emissions trends for LA Metro area
- Coordinate with local municipalities on sustainable infrastructure projects
- Prepare legislative analyses and fiscal impact statements for environmental regulations
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations and industry groups
- Monitor federal EPA regulations and ensure state compliance frameworks
- Manage grant programs supporting environmental justice initiatives in underserved communities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or regulated industries
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis tools (GIS, R, or Python)
- Deep knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and AB 32 regulations
- Experience with legislative research and regulatory impact assessment
- Strong written communication skills for policy briefs and public reports
- Certification in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish highly desirable
