Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies aligned with California's climate action goals
- Analyze complex environmental data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Collaborate with state agencies, local governments, and community stakeholders
- Lead public engagement initiatives and prepare policy briefings for legislative bodies
- Monitor regulatory compliance and emerging environmental technologies
- Manage interdepartmental projects with budgets exceeding $1M
- Mentor junior policy analysts and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field
- Minimum 5 years progressive policy development experience in government
- Expertise in California environmental regulations (CEQA, AB 32, SB 32)
- Advanced data analysis and GIS mapping capabilities
- Proven stakeholder engagement and public presentation skills
- California State Government project management certification preferred
- Valid California driver's license
