Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce environmental compliance programs for industrial facilities in the Houston-Galveston region
- Conduct site inspections and investigations to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations
- Analyze air, water, and soil quality data using GIS mapping and statistical modeling tools
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory guidance documents for public stakeholders
- Coordinate with local government agencies on pollution prevention initiatives
- Represent TCEQ at public hearings and community outreach events
- Lead emergency response protocols for environmental incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in environmental protection
- Texas Environmental Compliance Inspector certification required
- Advanced proficiency in EPA modeling software and data analysis tools
- Strong understanding of federal Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act regulations
- Excellent written communication skills for technical report preparation
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours during emergency response situations
