Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional climate action strategies aligned with California's SB 32 goals
- Oversee environmental compliance monitoring for industrial facilities and construction sites
- Analyze air quality data to recommend policy improvements using GIS mapping tools
- Lead community outreach programs for sustainable water conservation initiatives
- Prepare technical reports for state legislative committees on environmental impact assessments
- Coordinate with Bay Area agencies on regional waste reduction programs
- Manage grant-funded projects for urban greening and habitat restoration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience in California state/local government
- Advanced proficiency in environmental data analysis software (e.g., Enviroware, ArcGIS)
- Valid California Environmental Health Specialist certification
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-year sustainability projects
- Strong knowledge of CEQA and federal environmental regulations
- Excellent written communication skills for policy documents and public reports
