Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory enforcement initiatives for industrial facilities in the Portland metropolitan area
- Develop and implement air quality monitoring programs targeting urban pollution hotspots
- Analyze complex environmental data to recommend policy adjustments for water resource protection
- Coordinate with local government agencies and tribal nations on environmental justice initiatives
- Prepare technical reports and legislative recommendations for state environmental policy updates
- Mentor junior staff on regulatory compliance procedures and scientific methodologies
- Represent the agency at public hearings and stakeholder engagement forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance or policy development
- Professional certification in Environmental Management (e.g., CEP, CHMM) or equivalent
- Advanced proficiency in GIS mapping and environmental data analysis tools
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA and Oregon's environmental regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and public audiences
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean driving record
